Back in Hong Kong for a few days. Today we’re in Kowloon visiting the Hong Kong Museum. I must be getting old because I remember seeing a lot of this stuff for sale in Woolworth’s when I was kid

Today we took a boat trip from from Mui Wo to Cheung Chau, and had a bit of a wander.
A few snaps around Mui Wo, the massive bike sheds and some of the vessels that dock there.
A few slightly shaky snaps as I returned to Mui Wo this evening.
I have not been out much the last few days, so I thought I’d go into central and do a bit of shopping.
Wandered about Kowloon for most of the day, taking pictures.
Another wander about Kowloon.
It was a really nice day today, so we thought we’d have breakfast on the beach at Mui Wo.
A very enjoyable meal with my pal’s Chinese girlfriend’s folks.
Wandered into Kowloon today, camera at the ready. I’ve always been particularly fascinated by Canton Road, where there are tiny shops packed to the ceilings with engineering bits, bearings springs etc. And other emporia with distinctly amusing names.
Went into Central with my hots today. It was quite hot and we didn’t do much. But I did manage to grab a handful moderately good snaps.
Thought I’d have a change today and go up into the Mui WO hills. Take a look at some of Llama Island’s fascinating countryside and perhaps grab a few photos.
It was quite a clear da today, so I thought I’d tale the Peak Tram and take some more snaps of the city from on high.
Caught the catamaran to visit the former Portuguese colony Macau today, accompanied by my friends and hosts.
My very temporary office on Hong Kong. Actually the basement of my friend’s house in Mui Wo. But it was a great base form which to see Hong Kong and its environs and it was very good of my friends to put me up.
Took a few snaps of large helicopters dropping water bombs on some bush firs in the hills behind my pal’s house in Mui Wo.
Decided to take visit the flamingoes in Hong Kong’s amazing Botanical Gardens.
Decided to ride the Peak ram up to The Peak, to get a few snaps across the city.
Mid Levels
Went to Wan Chai with my pal and his girlfriend, and took a few snaps.
Spent the day wandering the backstreets of Kowloon.
Kowloon
I rode the tram, literally from one end of Hong Kong island to the other, taking a photo every few seconds.
I needed to get away from things for a while. Fortunately an old pal had a spare room in his basement, in his house on one of the outer Hong Kong islands. Today we went to Mui Wo Beach, about 1 km from his house.
I found myself in Hong Kong in Christmas 1998 and early January 1999, and decided to treat myself to a new camera. My first half-decent digital, an Olympus C1400L. These are some of its results…
