Spent the day Trabant Spotting in Pécs, Hungary. Actually I was looking for any Soviet era stuff that probably won’t be around for very much longer.
Two events this week could herald in the clash of the titans as the two global IT giants, Google & Microsoft slug it out for global internet dominance. Or so one might believe. MS started rolling-out its much-hyped Microsoft Online Services (MOS). The new services are scheduled to be available to customers by mid-July 2009….
Seems as if it were only the day before yesterday, but it is in fact thirty years to the day since GarfNet had its own domain. Having all become familiar with USB C, seems the USB Group has just announced an even newer and faster connection standard, to be known as “USB D”. Of course, like all new Universal Serial Bus connectors, it will be completely incompatible with all previous USB standards. To guarantee incompatibility, the new connectors will be circular….
