Walking back to Pécs through the snow. Today, even the rougher prts of town have a strange beauty, now they’re covered with snow.
Being a geeky type of chap, I generally find that the best way to guarantee that Santa puts a decent geek-friendly Christmas present in my stocking is to buy it myself! So this year I treated myself to an Icom IC-R20 hand-held, all-band communications receiver/scanner. I have always had a penchant for small communications receivers….
I don’t have a TV licence – I don’t intend to buy one either. We have a nice big roof mounted TV aerial which I have repurposed for much better things. For a start, it receives FM and DAB radio perfectly adequately. We’re only a 35 km crow’s flight from the hefty Rowridge VHF transmitter….
Wandered into Kowloon today, camera at the ready. I’ve always been particularly fascinated by Canton Road, where there are tiny shops packed to the ceilings with engineering bits, bearings springs etc. And other emporia with distinctly amusing names.
